Phono/Photo, Collection #5, Paris

Three of my photographs have been included in Trace Label's 'Phono-Photo, Collection 5.'

Uniquely, images in these series also include a short piece of music or sound design, heard after touching the image.

Trace Label is based in Paris, France and offers rather interesting audio.

The 'phono-photos' are here, and Trace Label can be found here.

Window Painting

After 25 years in semi-obscurity, an old film I'd done with Paul De Nooijer has found its way into the public mainstream (well... the Dutch mainstream, at least). The Dutch Film Museum has collected a number of the old works onto a DVD, five of which we'd done together.

Paul and I'd done this in the corner display window of the old Feller Menswear Building in downtown Harrisburg, Pennsylvania during the lunch hour one spring day. The site is now the home to the Susquehanna Art Museum... and that corner window no longer exists.

As with most of the Musser/DeNooijer films of this ilk, only a general plan was discussed beforehand. It may be obvious to most, but we're making it up as we go... with the occasional instruction to one another happening when we cover our mouths.

The style of film we incorporated back then was a 16mm film camera shooting at only 2 frames per second (the standard speed would have been 24 frames per second). So, when we actually performed the actions, we would move 1/12th normal speed to attempt to simulate 'normal' body speed... except, of course, when we tried to do otherwise.

Four other, equally ancient, works are available on my website: Tarting Over, Tilburg Teacher Trilogy, The Third T(h)est, and the music video commissioned by the band, Golden Earring, N.E.W.S.

Hungarian Computer Mouse

My wonderful, but crazy, Hungarian friend, Gábor Tóth, returned this image to me after receiving a packet of the limited edition pens I'd sent him.
